About Bijoux Mikis
Under the name Bijoux Mikis, whose name means "Beads" in Atikamekw Nehiromowin, Marie-Kristine brings a touch of modernity to her beaded creations. Her jewelry is the result of a skillful fusion of traditional techniques and contemporary elements, creating pieces that transcend time. Each piece tells a story, a statement of Indigenous identity that celebrates the resilience and vitality of Indigenous peoples.
Her move away from her home community reinforced her commitment to amplifying Indigenous voices and sharing their stories. Through Bijoux Mikis, Marie-Kristine not only offers exquisite jewelry, but also weaves connections between the past and the present, inspiring a deep respect for the cultural diversity that enriches the fabric of Quebec society.
